Photo Story: Return of mega expo and the crowd

Writer's picture: Prologue EditorialPrologue Editorial

Hong Kong has finally returned to normalcy, with numerous mega events that had been dormant for three years now coming back to life. The public relations and event industries have quickly picked up on this trend, as virtual events are being transformed into physical ones. The scale and budget of events have skyrocketed, and photo and video production can now be showcased without compromise.

The mingling and joyful laughter of attendees has also returned, with PR practitioners describing the scene as a "revenge-style mega events," offering great opportunities for the industry.

One of the most highly anticipated exhibitions in the city is Art Basel and Art Central, held in late March at the HKCEC in Wan Chai. The venue was packed with people and the atmosphere was lively, even more so than in previous years. The return of physical exhibitions satisfies the public's long-standing desire for leisure and cultural activities. Immersing oneself in colors and forms, experiencing the creative power of artists and curators, and interacting with artists and gallery representatives all promote public participation in cultural and artistic events.

Our media and public affairs consultant, Janice Fung, visited Art Central on its closing day and captured the interactions between visitors and the artworks.

Immersive works that blend art and technology have become a crucial element in curating exhibitions in recent years. Upon entering the entrance, visitors are bathed in a ritualistic, sensory shower of visuals and sounds, honing their senses and readying them for the main gallery
